As we all motorsports fans long expected, this upcoming weekend we have a new edition of the anual Le Mans 24 hours race, again from saturday 3pm until sunday 3pm several of the most known racing teams which includes pilots, mechanics, engineers, assistants and lots more people are gonna give us one of the best spectacles in racing ever.

For thee who haven’t seen the documentary video “Truth in 24″ from Audi, I strongly recommend you to download it from iTunes, it’s freely available, and is impressive, I expect to see Mr. LeMans obtaining his 9th title this year!!!

I’m not a designer yet I’m very well versed in Computers and Operative Systems, plus I self-learned the basics of design some years ago out of curiosity.
So, regarding the twitt you see lines above I must say I recommend 3 + 1 apps which will completely overcome these 40 apps recommendations, and these are:
Gimp for OS X (Open Source Software): Advanced app for image manipulation.
TextMate (Paid Software): The best app for editing source code, it completely worth it!
CyberDuck FTP (shareware): A truly complete FTP client, sends keep-alive bits throughout the communication.
+
Imagemagick (Open Source Software): I under-use this app via a simple oneliner script I created to resize and change format, using it’s binary “convert”; Installed via Darwin Ports for Mac.
Of course these tools are quite far from the ultimate tools for designers, yet my list is much reasonable to -at least- try than the 40 apps recommended by DesignerDepot; no pun intended.

Two thousand and nine racing season has begun, and us followers are well aware that this year with the new vehicles on the escene yet with the teams budget limitations drivers will have to give the mosty most out of them to own the pole and/or to lead the race and win, exciting !!!
I for one follow the Group A & Group N categories like: DTM, Australian V8, Le-Mans series, American Le-Mans Series, Super Taikyu, Japanese Super GT , British Rally, Ireland Rally, WRC, the Argentinian TC 2000, and locally the Peruvian Desafío Movistar (an all noveu drivers race) and Peruvian Super Turismo 2000 (go Honda!).
We all expect to see them angry & furious Mercedes Benz, Audi, Ford, BMW, Vauxall, Holden and my favorites Honda Type R and Nissan R34 & R35 roaring and conquering every apex and straight to the final lap!
Here is the deal, you are an investor, you have a good idea for bussiness and want to put it in action, you also have a draft of a bussiness plan, you start a company.
After short time you realize you need to hire an experimented C.E.O. (hey, you are an investor and your motivation is to invest in more than one bussiness, you have great eye for bussinesses, right?).
Now, what is the minimum set of skills (setpoint [0]) for the C.E.O. you want to hire?; In no particular order here is mine:
Strong sense of determination,
Strong sense of urgency,
Strong capacity of communication,
Ability to work under stress and/or ability of finding solutions while in any chaos situation,
Our C.E.O. must be a goal oriented person,
Our C.E.O. must wear exactly what’s necesary in any situation and must impress people at first look,
Our C.E.O. must be someone people wants to work with,
Our C.E.O. must speak and write correctly, no ordinary vocabulary nor lack of a good vocabulary must be shown, ever,
Our C.E.O. must have “good eye” for people,
Our C.E.O. must rapidly adapt to any situation and win,
Our C.E.O. must have a passion (or more than one) non work related (must be a “happy” person),
Our C.E.O. must love his/hers job/task/mission/goals,
Our C.E.O. always have to look into peoples eyes while talking,
Our C.E.O. must wear a fine wrist watch,
Our C.E.O. doesn’t need to be too friendly, he/she must transmit as well certain feeling of unreachability,
Our C.E.O. must be well paid,
Our C.E.O. preferably must have a fine car/truck for daily use,
Our C.E.O. must demonstrate he/she can spend money at will,
Our C.E.O. must want to have family (if not already),
Our C.E.O. must know/like arts,
At this time I don’t think of anything else, maybe this list will be update sometime soon… So, what are the skills you look for in your future C.E.O.?
Yet another year has come to an end and as always the time to re-evaluate personal and professional goals has arrived, I’ve started writing a mental list of goals by October this year since 2008 has not been the greatest of times for me.
So, with a new calendar landing on my desk it’s time to finish analyzing the facts, the past actions, and the changes needed and put in practice ASAP the necessary activity to achieve this new set of goals for this upcoming year and luckily forming the correct path to obtain the “Kwan”.
This upcoming year starts with a fresh new look, big personal and professional projects, expectations and lots of positivism, and as Jerry Maguire’s mentor said “Hey, I don’t have all the answers. In life, to be honest, I failed as much as I have succeeded. But I love my wife. I love my life. And I wish you my kind of success”
Last night Takeo Fukui, president of Honda Motor Co. announced that Honda won’t continue to support the F1 racing sub-division Honda Racing F1 with immediate effect, meaning their retirement from the F1 racing for the 2009 season, the news has been shocking for the racing sub-division itself, the engineers, the crew, the drivers and all of us followers to one of the greatest racing companies, earlier this year Honda had been predicted to be one of the top 4 for the 2009 season.
Starting in 1964 with the passion of its fonder, Honda has always been close to the Formula One, from John Surtees who won the first Grand Prix (1967 in Italy), the amazing Ayrton Senna, and recently Jenson Button. This announcement closes a long relationship between the manufacturer and one of the ultimate racing events.
At the moment there are several serious buyers for the sub-division, we hope Honda Racing F1 to continue the next year’s season although it may be under another name.

It is not a surprise for no-one that Honda Type R cars are by far of the fastest, most respected, best engineered cars around and since Honda Access’s Modulo Civic Type R appeared it is kicking every other car’s ass, as an example, the guys at Best Motoring tested the car again a stock Civic Type R fd2, a Nismo Fairlady Z33 and a Subaru Impreza Sti Spec-C Type RA-R, the top of the line car for subaru impreza, see the results for yourself.
It seems the Modulo Civic Type R fd2 will become the stock production model for the fd2 for 2009, what a wonderful news!.
